Afsan Chowdhury is a development and media professional, researcher and social activist with over 40 years of experience in the development sector at national and international levels. He has worked as Sr. Advisor (Advocacy and Communication) at BRAC from 2012-16 and is currently a Faculty member of BRAC University. His other areas of work are health communication, diversity analysis, community mobilization, Child rights, disaster management, safe migration and extremism issues. Mr. Chowdhury has worked for UNICEF and served as consultant to over 50 INGOs and NGOs including as a Child Rights Monitor and other issues. He was nominated Ashoka Fellow for Life in 1998, Short Term Fellow at Oxford University 2002. Oak International Human Tights Fellow at Colby College USA in 2008 and other fellowships. He has authored and co-authored over a dozen books.
