The Ministry of Expatriate Welfare and Overseas Employment (MEWOE) initiated the process of formulating a Reintegration policy for the migrant workers for their welfare, where the International Organization for Migration (IOM), International Labour Organization (ILO) and UN Women have supported the process. Hassan Imam, along with one international and one national consultant were commissioned by these three UN agencies to formulate the policy. As a part of the assignment process, three divisional consultations were organized in Dhaka, Chattogram, and Sylhet. The team also conducted FGDs, IDIs, and KIIs with the migrants, their family members, and key stakeholders respectively, as a part of the need assessment process.
