Duration: December 2024- May 2025
In 2021, the International Organization for Migration (IOM), with support from the Center for Development Communications (DEVCOM), developed a Pre-Departure Orientation (PDO) program, including modules and materials for BOESL, to ensure appropriate training for Jordan-bound women migrant workers. Recognizing the need to update the manual with relevant and accurate information on overseas employment, IOM initiated a revision in 2024, with DEVCOM providing valuable support. DEVCOM adapted and redesigned the manual to align with the current context. As part of the assignment, DEVCOM-
- Conducted interviews and facilitated a consultation workshop with BOESL trainers, current women migrants in Jordan, and Jordanian employers to assess field-level needs.
- Submitted a Needs Assessment Report to IOM.
- Revised the outline of the PDO manual.
- Redesigned and developed the manual and training materials, incorporating findings from interviews and updated information, and submitted them to IOM.
This revision ensures that the PDO program remains relevant and effectively prepares women migrant workers for employment in Jordan.
